What we collect, and when
When you run a territory check
The form asks for your name, your business name, your trade, your email, your phone number and your business address. We keep all of that, along with the result of the check (whether your trade was open, the radius, and the market figures shown to you), the date and time, the address your connection came from (the IP address), and the exact wording of the consent boxes as they read when you ticked them. That last part is so we can show, later, what you agreed to.
Your address is turned into a point on the map so the circle can be drawn. The market figures come from the U.S. Census Bureau, which receives only the map coordinates of the area, never your name or details.
When you contact us
The contact form sends us your name, your email, your phone number if you give it, and your message. We keep the email so we can answer you and find the conversation again.
When you book a call
Booking runs on Google Calendar's own booking page. What you type there goes to Google under Google's privacy policy, and the appointment lands in our calendar.
Just by visiting
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses and the pages requested. The strip at the top of the page may name your state; that comes from the network your request arrived on, is not stored by us, and is never more precise than the state. The page fonts load from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google for them.
We do not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies on this site. The only thing the site stores in your browser is the result of your own territory check, so the report page can show it to you; it lives in your browser, not on our servers, and clears when the tab closes.
What we use it for
- To send you the territory report you asked for, if you ticked the box for it.
- To reply to you, and to call or text you about working together, but only if you ticked the box saying that was fine. A few messages a month at most; reply STOP to any text and it ends.
- To send you our newsletter, about once a month, but only if you ticked the box for it. Clients get it too. Every one has an unsubscribe link, and once you use it you are off the list for good.
- To keep the record of who has claimed which trade in which territory, because one trade per territory is the whole model and we have to be able to check it.
- To run the business: knowing who has been in touch, what they were shown, and what they agreed to.
We do not sell your information, rent it, or hand it to anyone for their own marketing.
Who else touches it
A handful of companies run the plumbing under this site, and each sees only what its job needs:
- Netlify hosts the site and runs the code behind the forms.
- Supabase holds the database where leads and territory records are stored.
- Resend delivers the emails we send from this site, such as your territory report.
- Mailchimp sends our newsletter, to the people who asked for it.
- Mapbox turns the address you type into a point on the map and offers address suggestions as you type.
- The U.S. Census Bureau supplies the population and housing figures for your area. It sees coordinates only.
- Google provides the booking calendar and the page fonts.
Beyond that, we would share information only if the law required it, or to protect someone from harm.
How long we keep it
Territory checks and enquiries stay on file while we might work together, and for as long as we need to show who agreed to what. If you become a client, your records last as long as the relationship and for a reasonable period after. Ask us to delete your details and we will, unless we have to keep something for a legal reason, in which case we will tell you what and why.
Your choices
- Email info@territoryadvertising.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it.
- Reply STOP to any text from us and texts end. Tell us to stop calling and we stop.
- Tell us to stop emailing you and we stop, apart from a reply you have asked for.
Children
This site is for business owners and is not aimed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Security
Information travels to and from this site over an encrypted connection, is stored with providers that encrypt it at rest, and is reachable only by people at Territory Advertising who need it. No system is perfect; if something ever goes wrong with your information we will tell you.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes here with a new date at the top. A change that matters to something you have already agreed to, we will tell you about directly.
